Here’s what to expect from the ADHD assessment process:
1. Enquiry
Once we receive your initial enquiry, we will reach out to provide you with detailed information about the assessment process, what to expect, and the next steps.
2. Questionnaires
After our initial contact, you will be sent questionnaires to complete. These will include a set for you, as the client, and if applicable, one for an informant—someone who knows you well (e.g., a close family member or friend) and can provide insight into your behavior and history.
3. Mental Health and Psychological Assessment
Following completion of the questionnaires, we will schedule a 60-minute mental health and psychological assessment. This step helps us explore your mental health history, understand your challenges, and set the foundation for the ADHD assessment.
4. ADHD Assessment
Next, we conduct a specialized ADHD interview, known as the DIVA interview, which lasts 90 minutes. The DIVA interview is an essential part of the process and provides detailed information about ADHD symptoms, behaviors, and history.
5. Computerized ADHD Assessment (QbCheck and CAARS)
The DIVA interview is followed by a computerized ADHD assessment, called QbCheck as well as CAARS (CAARS Conners’ Adult ADHD Rating Scales) which is completed independently by the client. This tool measures your attention, activity levels, and impulsivity, providing further insight into your symptoms.
6. Feedback Session
Once the assessment is complete, we will schedule a 30-minute feedback session. During this session, we will discuss the results of the assessment and provide an initial understanding of the findings.
7. Outcome Letter
Within 48 hours of the feedback session, you will receive an Outcome Letter summarizing the key findings.
8. Final Report
Finally, the comprehensive final report, including diagnostic results, detailed findings, and any recommendations, will be shared with you within 4 weeks of the feedback session. This report provides a full diagnosis and actionable steps for moving forward.
